Awake supra early to go for two big walks :)
The Fort Walk:
Wikipedia dit: En 1942, Townsville devint une importante base en Australie pour les troupes provenant d'Australie et des Etats-Unis. Une base d'observation fut installee sur Magnetic Island.
The Fort Walk est une marche a travers les restes de cette base militaire.
Wikipedia says: Magnetic Island became an important defensive position during World War 2 due to its proximity to Townsville, an important military base, and its views over Cleveland Bay, a significant anchorage and assembly point for large fleets and convoys operating in the south Pacific. As such, the Magnetic Battery, an artillery battery and observation post, was built in the hinterland of Florence, Horseshoe and Arthur Bays. Picnic Bay also became an popular defence force rest and relaxation camp following the commandeering of a resort in the bay in 1939.
The Fort Walk is a walk around this military base ruins.

J'enchaine ensuite par une longue marche qui m'emmene sur quelques plages de l'ile... Dommage que je ne puisse pas me baigner a cause des meduses....
I keep on going with the Bay Walk. This walk is taking me to few beaches of the island. To bad I can't go swimming cause of the stingers :(((
Encore une fois, voila le chemin pour aller a Arthur Bay... impraticable, je n'ai jamais trouve... Je suppose que c'est a cause de la maree haute.... Vive les Australiens et leurs chemins/indications!....

J'ai pris le bus et me voila a Picnic Bay ou je vais passer la nuit....
Je suis bien decue, le temps est pas terrible, le village est completement mort et la plage est super ventee....
Resultat je decide de retourner Horseshoe Bay (30 minutes en bus) :)))
I took the bus from Horseshoe Bay to Picnic Bay where I'll be spending the night.
I'm quite disappointed.... The town is really really quiete, the weather is not that nice and the beach is really windy.....
So I decided to go back to Horseshoe Bay (30 minutes by bus) for the end of the arvo.
Horseshoe Bay:
De retour a Horseshoe Bay, petite seance crepage et coucher du soleil.
Back at Horseshoe Bay beach for a while followed by a nice sunset.
Back in Picnic Bay:
Retour a Picnic Bay pour diner (avant 20h hein!). Apparemment y'avait un concert au pub mais ca s'est fini a 19h30 donc je n'ai pas eu le temps d'en profiter....
I had dinner at the Picnic Bay pub, before 8pm!!!! Apparently they even had live music but it ended at 7:30pm.... God it's like being a chicken to do all those things so early!
