Visite de Phnom Penh - Marie au Cambodge S01E05 (02/08/2009)

Levee a 7h30 pour arriver au Royal Palace de bonne heure parce que ca ferme de 11h a 14h30...
I got up at 7:30 to make sure I would get the Royal Palace quite early as it opens at weird hours (closes between 11am and 2pm).

Royal Palace - Silver Pagoda:
Arrivee au Palais Royal a 9h.
Le Palais Royal fut construit en 1866 par le roi Norodom. Son inauguration officielle eut lieu le 14 fevrier 1870. Les batiments dont la structure est inspiree par la sculpture khmere, sont orientes à l'est, selon les regles sacrees de la construction. Les travaux furent realises par des architectes français et khmers. L’enceinte principale du Palais est fermee au public, excepte lors d’occasions particulieres telle que l’anniversaire du Roi. Le Palais Royal s'etend sur une surface d'environ 16 hectares.
The Royal Palace is a complex of buildings which are the royal abode of the Kingdom of Cambodia. The Kings of Cambodia have occupied it since it was built in 1866, with a period of absence when the country came into turmoil during and after the reign of the Khmer Rouge. The palace was started after King Norodom relocated the royal capital from Oudong to Phnom Penh after the mid-1800s. It faces towards the East and is situated at the Western bank of four divisions at the Mekong River.

C'est a ce moment la (10h du mat) que ma batterie d'appareil photo a atteint 0%... Merci beaucoup a Scott (un collegue neto americain qui habite en Pologne) pour toutes ses photos!

C'est cense sentir mauvais mais j'ai trouve qu'ils ne sentaient pas du tout par rapport a ceux que j'avais vus et goutes a Singapore il y a 2 ans...
Wat Phnom:
Wat construite en 1373 sur une colline artificielle. Elle est le monument religieux le plus grand the Phnom Penh (27 metres de haut).
Built in 1373, it stands at 27 metres (on an artificial hill) and is the tallest religious structure in the city.
Central Market:
Achat de mangues et de mangoustines.
Puis degustation de calamar, delicieux :)

Pause pour acheter mes billets de bus pour aller a Siem Reap jeudi prochain!
Puis relaxation: 1h de massage du visage :)
Stop at a travel agency to buy my bus tickets to go to Siem Reap on the following Thursday.
Break for an hour face massage :)

Quite disappointing, really touristy, don't loose your time there!

Evening at the hotel:
La journee a ete bien remplie. Ce soir j'ai donc decide de rester a l'hotel, de manger mes fruits pour diner et d'ecrire un peu sur mon blog....
Malheureusement nous avons eu une coupure de courant d'environ 20 minutes et nous n'avons recupere internet que le lendemain....
It has been quite a big day, so I decided to have my fruits for dinner at the hotel and to post few pictures on my blog... Unfortunately we had a 20 minutes power cut and it screwed up internet that we only got back the following days!
