Wikipedia: The Chamundeshwari Temple was named after Chamundeshwari or Durga, the fierce form of Shakti, a tutelary deity held in reverence for centuries by Mysore Maharajas. The original shrine is thought to have been built in the 12th century by Hoysala rulers while its tower was probably built by the Vijayanagar rulers of the 17th century. In 1659, a flight of one thousand steps was built leading up to the 3000 foot summit of the hill. At the temple are several images of Nandi.
Enornmement de monde, queue enorme (1h environ), mais on peut acheter un billet plus cher et faire 2 minutes de queue a la place!... Ca compense pour tous les musees ou les etrangers payent 20 fois plus cher....
Massive amount of people, about 1h of queuing apparently... I paid the ticket slightly more expensive that allows you to queue for 2 minutes only! O:) (I felt bad a little, but since as a foreigner I'm always charged 20 times more than locals....)

Sur la route en descendant de la colline, une large statue de Nandi (le taureau, monture de Shiva), 5 metres de haut et 7,60 metres de long.

Amazing, just at that time, a man and a woman (from the US I think) enter in the temple after talking to a Monk who opens the door for them... I follow them and ask the Monk if I can come in and take pictures and he says yes..... Amazing moment, I feel special!

J'ai demande si je pouvais rester pendant la puja et les deux visiteurs m'ont dit que si le monk m'avait laissee entrer, j'avais qu'a rester, j'ai appris par la suite que seuls les bouddhistes avec une acceptation particuliere pouvaient etre dans le temple... J'ai eu de la chance! Parce que c'etait une experience extraordinaire! Je n'ai pu rester qu'une heure (parce que nous devions poursuivre notre route) mais je serais bien restee les 4 ou 5h!I asked the two people I came in with if I could stay for the puja and they said that it should be fine, I later on found out that only Buddhists with special permissions can be in the temple... Oh well... I had such an amazing time! I felt really special! I could only stay for 1h because of the tight program but I would have beenn so happy to stay for the full puja (4 or 5h).
A monk from that temple passed away a few days before and the ceremony was the day before I visited the temple.

Arrivee a 16h, et j'ai du travailler au corps de la reception de l'hotel pour que quelqu'un m'emmene voir les plantations de cafe parce que c'est pas la saison... C'est quand meme dommage d'etre venu si loin et de ne pas y aller!
Reached the hotel at 4pm, it took me a good 10 minutes to convince the hotel people to organise a tiny tour for me to see the coffee plantations! It's not the season so they didn't see the point... I din't see the point to come all the way there and not to go!
