Captain James Cook Memorial
Ce memorial a ete construit par le Gouvernement du Commonwealth pour commemorer le bicentenaire de la date a laquelle le Captain Cook a vu la cote Est de l'Australie pour la premiere fois. Le memorial a un jet d'eau qui peut pomper jusqu'a 250 litres d'eau par seconde et qui peut atteindre 180 metres de haut.
Le jet est arrete depuis quelques mois parce qu'il y a une algue toxique dans le lac...
The memorial was built by the Commonwealth Government to commemorate the Bicentenary of Captain James Cook's first sighting of the east coast of Australia. The memorial includes a water jet which is capable of pumping up to 250 litres per second against a head of 183 meters.
It hasn't been turned on for a few months because of some poisonous algues in the lake water....

Black Mountain Tower
Cette tour de 195 metres construite au sommet de Black Mountain a ete inauguree en 1980. J'ai entendu dire qu'on avait une superbe vue de Canberra de la tour.. J'ai pas tente ma chance!!!
It was previously known as Telstra Tower or Telecom Tower. It is a telecommunication tower that is rising 195.2 metres above the summit of Black Mountain. It was opened in 1980. Apparently you can get great views of Canberra from there... Prob not this weekend though!

Enormement de verdure et de parcs.
Par contre, un seul reproche, Canberra n'est pas fait pour les pietons! Les distances a parcourir sont assez grandes et la ville n'est pas trop amenagee pour ceux qui aiment marcher comme moi! Note: la prochaine fois louer une voiture (surtout quand il pleut!!!)
Canberra is a really green city, heaps of parks and stuff.
A bad point though, you need a car here (specially when it's raining!). Distances are quite big between things and pavements, etc are not that great... It's not a walking friendly city... I should rent a car next time.

En tous cas c'etait bien sympa ce weekend a Canberra! Je pensais m'ennuyer un peu et finalement je n'ai pas eu le temps de faire tout ce que je voulais....
Pour me remonter le moral de fin de weekend 2 equipes de footy prenaient le meme vol que moi... Yum!
The end! I left when that the weather was getting better :(
Anyway, I had a great time in Canberra! I thought I could get bored but in the end I did plenty of stuff and I didn't actually get the chance to do all the things I wanted to.
The little bonus: 2 AFL teams took the same plane as me O:) yum!
